The best method to help you win your custody case is to parent for your children. This means putting their needs first and showing you care about them. There are a few simple ways you can do this.

Having and maintaining strong, healthy relationships with your children is one way. Make sure your children know you care about them and will support them. Be a good parent and show that you’re going to be present in your child’s life.

Attending your child’s events can also help to show you’re a good caretaker. Be sure you take the time to be at important events in your child’s life such as sporting events and school meetings.

You also want to show that you’re a responsible parent. This goes hand-in-hand with putting your kids first. Showing that you are organized and trustworthy will help you gain custody of your children.

You can demonstrate this by up keeping your records. Make sure you have a parenting plan arranged with your spouse and stick to it. If you have arranged to pay child support to your wife, stay up-to-date with those payments.

Planning for your case is also a way to show your responsibility. Have answers prepared for the judge when they ask about living accommodations for your child or your financial situation.

Consider alternate options

If anything, you may want to consider mediation or arbitration. These methods may be easier ways to handle a dispute.

Talking to other friends or family who have gone through the same process could also help you. Having other opinions can help you sort through your options and opportunities.
